KAREN EAMES

I have struggled with my weight and food addiction for nearly 10 years, around the same time I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and high blood pressure. Since then I’ve dabbled in long distance running, traditional Globo Gyms and did a complete 180 from running to powerlifting. I found some success, got pretty strong and even worked as a personal trainer for awhile – but still struggled with keeping weight off. Once I found Crossfit I saw the amazing things these athletes were capable of and decided I wanted my fitness to become more well rounded. Not to just be strong with weights but also be better at running, rowing, biking, jumping, gymnastics, and just overall cardiovascular fitness. BCF has given me the drive to commit myself to improving my fitness in all areas and has motivated me to fix my relationship with food. The workouts are scaleable to be challenging for someone like me who is trying to work on more advanced skills, but also for the person next to me who is doing their first class. The community is amazing. The same people show up consistently, we find common ground in doing hard things and we push each other to do our best in every workout. I genuinely look forward to going to the gym every day.
