It is the wonderful coaches and the fitness family that motivated me to stick with BCF!

I am 50 years young and will be celebrating another wonderful year at the end of this year! I have always been active but never would I have thought to do CrossFit! I have been married to my best friend for 18 years and we have an 11 year old son, who has also has been doing CrossFit with BCF for the past year or so. During Covid, we have decided to expand our family by welcoming a French Bulldog (all the way from UK) and an American Bully (from Orlando, Fl.) In all, we have 2 French Bulldogs, 1 English Bulldog and an American Bully who completed our family of 6 :)

How Did You Get Started at Blue Crab Fitness?
Seeing the BCCF signs in the neighborhood made me curious of what Crossfit was like. I have always been intimidated when I see that word! So I decided to give it a try! It all started at Western Regional Park. Rick, Lura, Dallas and Josh went thru the basic movements of CrossFit with a "PVC pipe". So I said... heck, I can do this with a PVC!!! Lol! After that, we moved to their driveway while they waited for the Howard County permit (rain, shine and even in the coldest days-but thanks to the outdoor heaters!). But it is the wonderful coaches and the fitness family that motivated me to stick with BCF!
What is your favorite part about coming to the gym?
I love the family atmosphere and team work! Everyone encourages one another and pushes you to your limit!
What is your favorite WOD?
Everything that does NOT include rowing and running! But if I was to choose one, It would be Diane~DL and HSPU!
What is your favorite lift?
Deadlift because it is the only one I can do above my body weight :)
Outside of Blue Crab Fitness, what are your favorite things to do?
I love traveling but that has been on paused! So in the meantime, we pretend to travel by exploring restaurants in the DMV.
What is your favorite cheat meal?
My favorite cheat meal is a good burger with duck fat fries!
What motto or phrase do you live by?
Just do it!
What is your favorite music to listen to while working out?
If it's a hard WOD, I like to request any explicit songs!
What is one thing you have done and/or accomplished at BCF that you never thought you would do?
Being able to do HSPU!
What are your goals for this year?
My goal is to gain more muscle mass! Eat more healthy and get the DUs and kipping PUs!
